The Experience

Die Galerie

Your visit to The Chimney Lift begins in the Power Station’s magnificent Art Deco Turbine Hall A, where through a series of interactive displays, you’ll discover more about the building’s rich heritage, its architectural significance and enduring presence in popular culture.

Step back in time as you walk through the 1920’s office of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott – the Power Station’s original architect. Discover Building Battersea, an interactive illustrated wall which brings the construction of the building to life, or get hands on at a working model of the Power Station, where you will bring coal from the River Thames to generate power. Quiz lovers can also test their knowledge as you battle it out to get the highest score at a touchscreen quiz table.

The Switch Room

In the Switch Room, a 360-degree film tells the story of Battersea Power Station through the decades, from its heyday as a working coal-fired power station to its closure in 1983, the various different proposals put forward to regenerate the site and its rebirth as a vibrant new riverside neighbourhood for London.

The Ascent & View

Continuing onwards and upwards, constellations of light guide your way as the lift makes its exhilarating ascent to a view point of 109 metres above ground.

Genießen Sie die Sehenswürdigkeiten, die weltberühmten Wahrzeichen, die die atemberaubende Skyline Londons ausmachen, und die einzigartige Vogelperspektive auf das Kraftwerk selbst.
